This is going to be short because I need to get back to studying, but I just wanted to write quick note about my upcoming practice MCAT this Friday. This will be the first full one I've taken in 6 weeks, and I really think I have made a lot of progress in that time. My goal this week is to make at least a 24 although I'm really hoping for about 26. I want a minimum 10 on Verbal 8 (but 9 really) on Physical and whatever on Biology. I think that Biology will be the easiest to pull up quickly since I do have almost have a Master's degree in that field so I have not done any studying for it at all yet. I am studying to get my Physical above 9 and then I will switch focus to biological. I am also excited about this week because it will be the first afternoon exam I have taken. If I feel alert and do well on it then I am going to complete registration for the real deal. If this test goes well I will be signing up for the May 27th test administration which is at 1:00PM. Well that's all for now. I'll update how it goes after the test.

Ever feel like you don't know what to do with your life? Not sure you could choose one career for the rest of your life? Well that's exactly how I felt for a long time. In fact my dream of becoming a physician did not really begin until two years ago when my wife was already 3 months pregnant. It was towards the end of my graduate coursework that I realized I wanted to pursue a career as a medical doctor. I began this blog about one year before I was accepted and sparsley documented my MCAT prep and addmissions process. Now that I am in I will be recording how well (or not so well at times) I handle the rigors of being a husband, father, and medical student. My intention is to show that one can have a family and hobbies and still be a successful medical student. I hope this blog will be an inspiration to others taking a non traditional path to their career and also be a little entertaining.
